Spectrophotometric Folin-Ciocalteu and Aluminium Chloride Method Validation for the Determination of Phenolic Acid, Flavan-3-ol, Flavonol, and Anthocyanin Content

Spectrophotometric methods for the determination of total polyphenols and flavonoids are often used because they simple, sensitive, precise. Before using these methods, must be validated to ensure quality obtained data prove that method is suitable its purpose. The aim this study was validate spectrophotometric flavonoids. has been according polyphenol standards, which belong groups phenolic acids (p-hydroxybenzoic acid, sinapic ferulic acid), flavan-3-ols ((-)-epicatechin), flavonols (myricetin, kaempferol), anthocyanins (cyanidin-3-glucoside). For validation flavonoids, same standards belonging flavan-3-ols, flavonols, have used. parameters were linearity, sensitivity, limit detection, quantification, precision, accuracy. results both in acceptable ranges, except kaempferol In conclusion, can by calibration curves studied standard due lower sensitivity
